Logo practices often combine the initials of the founding partners to form the company name and use the renowned names for advertising purposes. In 1994 the partners of our firm decided to distinguish themselves optically from other law firms. They started from the English word “claim” in the meaning as used by the settlers in the American Wild West in the 19th century and as is used by patent attorneys worldwide to define the scope of protection of an application, i.e. the boundaries of the applicant’s rights, and came up with the rectangular fence – or fort – as protective symbol and firm logo. Small channels towards the outside represent the interaction with the environment. The choice of color was obvious – blue, the identification color of the IP Bar. The logo is registered in Germany under registration number 394 06 987 and as European Community Trademark No. 32 789. |
